These terms govern your use of the Avanta app and website, operated by Avanta Technologies LTD (“Avanta”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. Give us accurate details and keep your password to yourself — you are responsible for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at admin@avanta.org.uk if you think someone else has access to it.
Avanta is a digital work wallet. It stores the cards, qualifications and personal details you enter, keeps a copy on your device so it works without a signal, can remind you before something expires, and lets you produce a summary or CV to share when you choose to. You can add a card by photographing it — an AI service reads the photo and fills in the details for you.
Avanta records what you tell it. We do not verify credentials with issuing bodies, and a card or qualification shown in the app is not proof that it is valid, current or genuine. Nothing in the app is legal, health and safety, or employment advice. You remain responsible for holding the right qualifications for the work you do, and for keeping them in date.
Card scanning is an aid, not an authority. The AI that reads a card photo can misread names, numbers and dates — always check the details it fills in before saving, exactly as you would check your own typing. What you save is your record, whether it was typed or scanned.
Expiry reminders are a convenience and not a guarantee. They are scheduled by your own device, so they depend on your device settings — if notifications are switched off, restricted by the operating system, or the app’s data is removed, reminders will not appear. Do not rely on them as your only means of tracking an expiry date.
If you register a business on Avanta, you confirm that you are authorised to act for it and that the details you enter — its name, company number and address — are accurate. Company features are provided on the same “as is” basis as the rest of the service.
The information and documents you upload remain yours. You grant us only the permission we need to host, back up and display them to you, and to include them in exports you request. You confirm that you have the right to upload what you upload.
You agree not to:
We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, normally with notice unless the breach is serious.
We aim to keep Avanta available and working, but we provide it “as is” and cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free service. We may change, suspend or withdraw features. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account in the app. Deletion is permanent: your profile, wallet and uploaded documents are removed and cannot be recovered.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of data to the extent it arises from your failure to keep your own copies.
If you use Avanta as a consumer, you keep all your statutory rights.
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Avanta after that means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
